Two paintings from a short series inspired by characters in an antique childrens book my mother used to read to me. These images of course look nothing like the original depiction, but my interpretation of these as individual characters. The Leaf Maker and The Fire Maker.
Watercolor and Acrylic on paper

It's been such a long time since I posted my last blog. I plan be much more diligent about it! There is so much catching up to do. So I am going to post some paintings and also collage paintings I have been working on throughout this year.
I have been concentrating my work on paper lately, rather than canvas, and I am really enjoying mixed media on this surface. It allows me to layer and create depth in ways I don't acheive on canvas. Here are some of my recent paintings with collage and antique wallpaper- on paper.

Recent works
working in acrylic on canvas and also mixed media on paper. The mixed media on paper are Archival Ink, guache, watercolor and antique wall paper that we have found perfectly preserved in my mother's 1800's attic in New Hampshire. They offer me a sense of mystique, when using them in my work, and they are quite unique and rare papers.
